TARC Adventures

This morning on my way out the door I realized I had left my bike lock in Julie's car. She had already left for school so the only option I had was to attempt to ride the tarc to school. 

I have been wanting to figure out the route from our house to school for quite some time now but have just never gotten around to doing it. I really love the idea of public transportation. It saves money, gas, and the busses are warm inside. It is especially nice for UofL students, which we are, because it is completely free.

 Needless to say I survived the trip. I ended up being 30 minutes late for class because the bus I was on ended up going west once it got into downtown instead of east. It was only a minor setback though. 

The trip home went much smoother because I was able to look up all the routes and times online in class.

I found this video online, I think I am going to try out the bike rack next time. It looks so easy and fun.

Earring Holder

Today I made an earring holder.

I used an old picture that I bought at a thrift store a while back just because I liked the frame.  Plus it was only $3!  It was originally brown and gold, but I spray painted it white.
Then I used an old lace curtain that I bought at the same thrift store, which was a lot cheaper than buying the lace at a fabric store.  Plus I have a lot left over!

Hopefully it will help me to be a bit more organized and I will be able to get ready quicker.
  I haven't put my earrings in it yet, but here it is:

Christmas Shopping

Today, my mom, sister, nephew, and I decided to go to Edinburgh, IN for a day of shopping at the outlet mall.
I've been shopping for Christmas gifts for the past few months; just picking things up here and there.
Today, however, I checked a lot of people off of my list.  I love buying presents!


We've decided this year that we will be wrapping our christmas gifts in newspaper.   Wrapping paper is pretty, but it's such a waste!  Since we don't get the newspaper, I have been collecting it from my mom.  About a month ago, I also read about a way to make bows out of pages in books.   I plan on trying it out.  You can too.  HERE is how.

First Blog Ever!

We decided to make a blog because we have lots of cool stuff to talk about. However, since this is our first post, there is a lot of pressure on what we should say. 

One exciting event for today is that we got our picture in the mail from Sojourn's Fall Festival.  It's hanging on our refrigerator. =)
